Water Filtration and Purification, Do I need a filter or a purifier?
If you are only using treated water, tap or bottled, then you only need the Sawyer® Biological Water Filter to further filter your tap or bottled water. This filter removes 99.99999% of Bacteria and 99.9999% of Protozoa and Cysts.
If you will be drinking wilderness water (lakes, streams, or ponds) in addition to tap or bottled water, we recommend the Sawyer® Viral Water Purifier. This filter removes filter removes 99.99999% of Bacteria, 99.9999% of Protozoa and Cysts, and 99.997% of Viruses.

As a treatment for clothing, Sawyer® Permethrin does not harm fabrics and is odorless when dried. Use by itself or with skin applied repellents to build the ultimate protective barrier. A contact insecticide, permethrin is non-toxic to humans. Aerosol applications can last up to six weeks and through several washings. Non-aerosol formulations last two weeks.

While DEET can repel all mosquitoes, ticks, and some flies, DEET does not repel all flies effectively. For those situations you will need the extra protection Sawyer® DEET Plus Lotion and Sawyer® Premium Broad Spectrum Insect Repellent which have the special fly repellent additive , R-326.
